Jenny Jardine Photography bio picture

Jenny Jardine Photography

Well, here I am finally...or rather here is my family!  I still have some work left to do on this blogsite before it is finished to my satisfaction, and that is going to be done over the next two months, at least that's my plan!  But, for now I think it looks great!  I am still going to add some galleries and "pretty" it up!

Jenny Jardine Photography, photographing your family, the way you interact, and having fun together, in the Olds, AB area.  Session's can be held anywhere!  You pick your favorite spot, be it at home, the park or maybe even downtown.

What A Sweetheart!

When I was asked to photograph this little puppy I thought, sure, I can do that.  I hope.  See, I am not a pet photographer per se, it is a lot different then photographing kids and families.  But this little guy was amazing, and oh my gosh so incredibly cute!  His name is Sunny and he is a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel.  After photographing this little guy I would love to do more pet pictures!

Proud To Be Canadian!

Today I think the entire country came to a standstill just to watch the Canadians take on the USA.  It was bound to be a great match up, really how could it not be?!?!  I love hockey, the Calgary Flames are my home team, and of course Team Canada!  I watched it when the USA won the first game against Canada and I was crushed, how could this be?  It’s our game, we are supposed to win this one.  But, in true Canadian fashion we battled through, won all the games that we had to win and who do we have to play for the gold medal, you got it the USA.

Carter and I were invited over to my brother in laws house to watch the game (thanks Rob!) they have a great theater room so it’s just like you’re there.  We all sat down and watched and waited and I’ll admit did some praying too.  We were winning gold was ours 2-0, then it’s 2-1, then with 30 seconds left the Americans score…..OH MY GOD……did that just happen??  We were stunned, how did this happen?  Then overtime, it was fast, it was furious and then Sid the kid popped one in….GOLD!!  The whole country cheered, and hugged and cried.  They did it, it was amazing to watch our guys and our country come together and celebrate.  If you didn’t have a tear in your eye watching this happen well then we are going to have make you watch it all over again, it’s impossible.  Impossible.  not to have had at least a tear.

Then a friend of mine had a post on her facebook with a link to Brian Williams and his Thank you note to Canada, you really should go read it.

The Olympic’s have never something that I watch, but this year I watched a little more and I definitely heard a lot more (thanks Facebook) about what was going on.  Did you know that Canada has won the most gold ever for a Winter Olympic’s.  EVER.  That’s pretty fantastic!

Eh Oh Canada Go!!

My Favorite Blog’s

Ever since the first time I read this blog I have been in love with the way this photographer writes.  It’s her life.  REALLY her life right now, and it’s honest SO HONEST.  I have to admit I have become something of a blog stalker when it comes to this one!!   Enjoying The Small Things if you get a chance you really should check out this blog and depending on how far back you read, you just might need a box, yes I said a BOX of kleenex.  When she writes about the birth of Nella, you will ball your eyes out.  Just a warning, cause it is going to happen!

Another one of my favorite blogs, and I will admit a guilty pleasure is the PostSecret website, if you haven’t heard of it before or haven’t visited in a while you should get over there and catch up!  It’s amazing to me to read some of the secrets and think “hey, that is me to a t” I know you’ll find some that make you stop and think too.

And of course some pictures of my little dude, he is turning into quite the little ham, and he’s actually been ASKING me to take his pictures.  This is a clear sign of things turning around, since usually he holds his hand in front of his face and yell’s “no pictures!!” and the sad thing, he means it :(

Heart Smiles

That the sun is finally shining and we can get outside and PLAY!

My friends, I don’t know where I would be without all of you!

Canada won the hockey game last night and will be playing the USA for gold.  Does it get any better?  I don’t think so!

Carter, just Carter.

Al, he works so hard for us and does so much.  I don’t think we say it enough, but thank you!

The Survivor Contest!!

I can’t wait to see Survivor tonight, and see what is going on with Boston Rob!  I have tallied all of the votes and this is what it’s looking like:

James – 1

Rupert – 2

JT -1

Stephanie – 2

Boston Rob – 2

Colby – 1

Russell – 2

Parvati – 1

Danielle – 1

So, these are the people that have votes, and the number of votes per person.  I really thought that Colby and Russell would have had more votes but hey, what do I know?

I was thinking today, what would I do if no one picked the winner and I had all of these people participating in the contest so, I have decided that if the winner isn’t picked then I will throw everyone’s name in and do a random drawing.  After all what kind of a contest doesn’t have a winner?

Good Luck everyone!!  This has been fun so far, can’t wait to see what happens this season!

Luck.

I read a blog tonight that made me realize just how lucky I am.  I have an amazing life, husband son, parents and friends.

Sometimes in the rush of the day when my son is driving me crazy with his “threeness” life can get a little insane.  He is just like me very strong willed, and when he says “no, you do it” I get a little bull headed and say “no, you can do it” to the point that neither one of us is going to give in.  EVER.  There are many times in the run of a day or a week when I have heard the following statements, with a little whine

“I don’t want to”

“You do it”

“I WANT you to do it”

“NO”

“Why?”

“I want it, now”

these statements can make me insane in an already insane kind of day, but then he’ll pull out all the stops and say

“I love you from here to here and EVERYWHERE”

“I love you mom”

“Play with me, please mom”

“Can we sit in the rocker and cuddle?”

these things can make even the craziest of days seem like the craziness didn’t happen, and I love these moments.  When he’s snuggly and wants to cuddle or when he wakes up in the morning and pulls open the blinds and exclaims in absolute wonder “Look mom, it’s not dark out anymore!!”  I know I need to remember more of these moments, and less of his “threeness”.  Time will pass, and his crying and whining will be forgotten, but I don’t ever, EVER, want to forget the snuggly little boy that I adore.

So, why this post, why tonight?  Well, I have decided after reading the blog that I read tonight that I need to make sure to remember all of the wonder’s of  my life.  I have seen some of my friends with blogs have a “5 Things I’m Thankful For” list at the end of each post, and I think this is a great way to start realizing exactly what I am thankful for.  Without further ado,

5 Things I’m Thankful For

1. Seeing his smile every morning, and the cuddle he sneaks in before we get up for the day.

2. Being able to do a little more with my son every day, since my leg is healing so well and I am starting to walk with one crutch.

3. Taking my son to the movies, and just hanging out.

4. Hearing “I love you from here to here and EVERYWHERE” everyday.

5. Playing lego and seeing how excited he gets when we make cool stuff!

Hoar Frost

Those of us that live in Southern Alberta have been getting a lot of fog lately and with it we have also been getting hoar frost.  I can’t even describe how gorgeous the frost looks, it’s so thick it looks like it snowed, and it hasn’t, in weeks!
Today I grabbed my camera got in the van and was on a mission to take some great pictures of all the frost.  Now keep in mind I can’t get out of the van, so these are all taken while I was sitting in the van, the other thing, I haven’t done a lot of shooting in a couple of months!  It felt great to be out doing something that I love to do, and I can’t wait to be back on my feet again.  The doctor said maybe mid March I’ll be able to walk, keep your finger’s crossed for me!

Tree lined road, in the fog.
